Steamed Broccoli

Serves 4 as a side dish

Equipment Needed

1. Steamer (optional)
2. Pan with lid (if not using steamer)

Ingredients

1 lb Broccoli
Salt and Pepper for taste
Olive Oil (Optional)
Lemon Flavored Olive Oil (Optional)


Instructions (with steamer)

1. Cut the broccoli into bitesize pieces.

2. Add about 1 inch of water to the bottom of the pan.

3. Turn heat to high on the burner.

4. After the water is boiling, add the broccoli.

5. Cover steamer and cook for about 10 minutes.


Instructions (without steamer - more like boiled broccoli)

1. Cut the broccoli into bitesize pieces.

2. Add about 1 to 2 inches of water to the bottom of the pan.

3. Turn heat to high on the burner.

4. After the water is boiling add the broccoli.

5. Cover with lid and cook for about 5 minutes.

Serving Suggestions (Optional)

Serve plain without butter.

As an alternative to butter serve with olive oil.

As an alternative to Hollandaise sauce, consider a lemon-flavored olive oil.
