Cinnamon Apples

Serves 6 to 8 as a dessert

Equipment Needed

1. Colander
2. 9 by 13 glass baking dish
3. Wooden spoon
4. Whisk
5. Measuring spoons
6. Measuring cup

Ingredients

6-7 Medium to large organic apples (2 tart like granny smith, 4 sweet like honey crisp)
1 Tablespoon Pure Monk Fruit (It is important that it is pure and has no additives, no sugar alcohol) - Chef's Recommendation
2 Tablespoon ground cinnamon
1 Teaspoon fresh grated ginger (optional)
1/4 Teaspoon nutmeg (optional)
1 Tablespoon ground arrowroot starch - Chef's Recommendation
3 Tablespoon water
1 Pinch sea salt

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350 F.

2. Wash the apples in the colander.

3. Core and quarter the apples. Use a paring knife to thinly slice lengthwise.

4. In a pot, mix the water, monk fruit, and ground arrowroot thoroughly and heat briefly. The sauce should thicken very quickly.

5. Add the cored and sliced apples to the pot and mix well with the wooden spoon.

6. Turn off the burner.

7. Mix in the cinnamon, ginger (optional), and nutmeg (optional).

8. Add to baking dish.

9. Bake for 60 minutes.
